We offer a peer-to-peer travel money platform (iOS, Android and web) enabling travellers to swap currencies directly with each other – avoiding banks and corporates allowing us to offer the best rates on travel money. The candidate

We are looking for a self-motivating and pro-active Scrum Master to work across each of our multi-disciplined development teams. The role will be essential to the successful delivery of the new products and features planned for WeSwap in 2018 as we grow and scale the business across further markets and revenue streams.

As a core member of the team, you will work within an agile, cross-functional team of developers, QA testers and UI/UX designers to deliver high quality software across our iOS, Android, Web and Back-end tech stack. You will facilitate scrum ceremonies, remove impediments for the development teams and act as a coach to the wider business for scrum and agile methodologies.

The successful candidate will be ruthless at executing and will have a proven track record of guiding development teams to their optimal effectiveness using agile methodologies, especially within an environment subject to continuous change. They will have experience in facilitating multiple teams concurrently, and will be able to deliver continuous improvement to the WeSwap development processes.

 

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for continuously delivering successful sprints.
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies including the daily stand up, sprint planning, sprint review and sprint retrospective
  • Deliver continuous improvement of the scrum process for four development teams (both in-house and remotely)
  • Understand, measure and analyse the velocity of each scrum team
  • Monitor sprint progress and track defects through to completion
  • Remove impediments or guide the team to remove blockers to ensure the successful delivery of the work committed to a sprint
  • Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution between the development teams and key stakeholders
  • Guide the development teams to become self-organising, and shield them from external distractions
  • Assess the scrum maturity of the organisation and coach the team and wider business on scrum/agile
  • Support Product Owners in the maintenance and prioritisation of the product backlog

Experience

  • Experience of delivering projects that have impacted directly on business KPIs
  • Degree educated or equivalent
  • 2-3 years for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory
  • Excellent skills in facilitation, conflict resolution, continuous improvement 
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, TDD, BDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games 
  • Knowledge of various Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Scrum, etc.
  • Experience in using Jira/Confluence or similar
  • Proficient in applying a wide variety of techniques used for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach
  • Experience in team velocity calculation and velocity based planning
